Segesta was founded by Elimi's people, maybe in the X century b.C. and it has been able, in the past, to draw crowd of tourist like Johann Wolfgang Goethe, who stopped here during his Grand Tour. Here there is a temple dating back to the V century b.C. and a theatre dig inside a hill, that, now as then, host a lot of pieces and events. Don't miss also the famous Casa del Navarca, an ancient house with naval decotarions and statues.
Not so far from Segesta, ther's Selinunte. Its name derives from the wild celery, a very common plant. Here you'll find the biggest archaelogical park in Europe. In the past Selinunte was considered a strategic place in the Mediterranean Sea.
